Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
This privacy policy applies to the Gear Garage app (hereby referred to as "Application") created by Gabe Runte (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
2. Information We Collect
The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:
- Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
- The pages of the Application you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages
- The operating system you use on your device
From Strava: When you connect your Strava account, we access your name, email, profile photo, activity data (distance, time, elevation, route outlines, gear assignments), and gear/shoe list.
From you directly: Running profile preferences, shoe photos you upload, review text and photos, and your display name.
3. How We Use Your Information
The Service Provider uses the information collected to provide and improve the Application, to contact you with important notices, and to personalize your experience. The information you provide will be retained and used as described in this privacy policy.
4. What We Do Not Do
Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application. The Service Provider may disclose information as required by law, to protect rights or safety, or with trusted service providers who are bound by this privacy statement.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers. We do not share your Strava activity data with any third party.
5. What Other Users Can See
Your reviews, display name, and running profile tags (e.g., pronation, pace band) are visible to other logged-in users. Your email address is never shown publicly.
6. Third-Party Services
GearGarage uses the following third-party services:
- Strava — activity data source. Strava Privacy Policy

- Vercel — hosting and CDN. Vercel Privacy Policy
7. Data Retention
The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you'd like your data deleted, please contact us at the address below.
Your data is stored for as long as your account is active. It is deleted upon account deletion request.
8. Account Deletion
To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at trackmygear@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
9. Geographic Scope
GearGarage is intended for use by US residents only. We do not knowingly provide service to residents of the EU, EEA, or UK, and this service is not subject to GDPR.
10. Children
We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under 13 years of age. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will delete their account.
11. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this page regularly, as continued use of the Application is deemed approval of all changes.
